Le'Veon Bell (groin) looks good playing basketball

Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell cited his groin injury as one major reason Pittsburgh bowed out of the playoffs this year. After attempting to rehab the injury, the running back underwent core muscle surgery in March.

We haven't seen Bell this offseason, as he's skipped workouts after getting hit with the franchise tag.

Based on a video of the running back playing basketball over the weekend -- which Bell retweeted -- we can surmise that his rehab is going well.

While Bell knifing through scrubs at the rec doesn't provide an actual diagnosis, it's a positive sign the nagging core issue shouldn't hinder him when training camp opens at the end of July.

The Steelers and Bell have until July 17 to work out a long-term contract or the running back will play 2017 under the $12.1 million franchise tag.
