Not long after Decker's 2016 season ended prematurely in October, reports surfaced suggesting the start of his 2017 would be in jeopardy.
Decker shot down that speculation on Tuesday, declaring that he would be full-go for training camp in late July.
"I was surprised when people thought I wasn't going to be ready," Decker said, via Bob Glauber of Newsday.
Although several beat writers have suggested that Decker might be yet another casualty in the Jets' offseason roster purge, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport cautioned in March that it's too early to put it in writing.
"Do not necessarily assume that we've seen the last of Eric Decker in a Jets uniform," Rapoport explained. "If he is healthy and is doing well, would not be surprised to see him back in 2017 paired with some of the younger exciting receivers."
Should the Jets ultimately decide to cut ties, on the other hand, a healthy Decker should have a line of suitors.
