Transactions roundup: Chicago Bears cut Ego Ferguson

The Chicago Bearsjettisoned defensive lineman Ego Ferguson on Friday.

The former 2014 second-round pick appeared in 20 games over three seasons with Chicago. Sixteen of those contests, however, came in his rookie campaign, as he missed the entire 2016 season and 12 games in 2015 due to shoulder and knee injuries respectively.

Ferguson was also handed a four-game suspension in 2015 for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Here are some other transactions we are tracking from this week:

  1. Falcons offensive linemen Chris Chester and Carter Bykowski both announced their retirements Thursday.
  1. Chris Long is officially an Eagle. The pass rusher signed his two-year contract, the team announced on Friday. Cornerback Patrick Robinson also made it official by signing his one-year deal with the team.
  1. The Chiefs announced they have signed tight end Gavin Escobar to a deal.
