Tebow headed to a minor league diamond near you

Last time we checked in on Tim Tebow, he was coming off of a rough spring training debut for the New York Mets.

Things got off to a rocky start when the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, Rick Porcello, struck Tebow out with four straight fastballs. Tebow went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts and grounded into a double play. Many scouts saw the dismal debut coming after the outfielder hit just .194 with 20 strikeouts in the Arizona Fall League.

Tebow's latest stint in the Mets organization is with the Columbia Fireflies -- a low-A minor league squad based in South Carolina. He will make his Fireflies debut on April 6, and the team has already started rolling out a Tebowmania campaign on their website and social media accounts.

If this tweet doesn't get you fired up for opening day, we don't know what will. The Tebowmaniacs -- err, Columbia Fireflies -- take on the Augusta GreenJackets in their 2017 home opener. Tickets range from $5 in the Bojangle's Berm section to $10 for a seat in the Home Run porch if you're looking to catch one of Tebow's dingers.
