Pro day results: Purdue, Georgia State

Fewer than 24 hours after the conclusion of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, Purdue held its pro day. Good strategy. Located an hour and 15 minutes north of Indianapolis, the school drew 25 NFL teams on Tuesday to watch 12 of its own players plus Marian WR Krishawn Hogan work out indoors on FieldTurf.

Hogan, who participated at the combine, weighed 218 -- 4 pounds lighter than he weighed a few days earlier -- and only ran the short shuttle (4.25 seconds). It hardly seemed worth the 130-mile round trip.

Purdue WR DeAngelo Yancey (6-foot-1 5/8, 220 pounds) ran a pair of 40-yard dashes in 4.58 and 4.53 seconds, had a vertical jump of 35.5 inches, a 10-foot-1 broad jump, a 6.84-second three-cone drill, a 4.27-second short shuttle and 21 bench press lifts. He's projected as a third-day draft prospect or priority free agent.

DL Jake Replogle was a topic of conversation at Purdue's pro day. He was the Boilermakers' best draft prospect this year before retiring in January, saying at the time he was taking his name out of 2017 draft consideration and turning his focus to a career in business. Some believe he had Day 2 talent.

Other notable pro days on Tuesday

GEORGIA STATE

There were 15 players who worked out outdoors on FieldTurf for representatives from seven NFL teams.

» WR Robert Davis (6-2 3/4, 214) stood on all his combine numbers but did go through positional drills. He caught passes from former college teammate Nick Arbuckle and looked good.

» DT Shawanye Lawrence (6-2 7/8, 265) ran identical 4.96-second 40-yard dashes, had a 34-inch vertical, a 9-2 broad jump, a 4.57-second short shuttle, a 7.33-second three-cone, and added 22 bench lifts. He went through a good DL workout by scouts, and is now projected as a priority free-agent signing.
