Alabama TE O.J. Howard was among the players who might not have needed the Reese's Senior Bowl to improve their draft stock, but participated anyway. And by week's end, the Crimson Tide's potential first-round pick not only participated, he competed like nobody else.

A panel of NFL scouts and Senior Bowl staff members selected Howard as the Senior Bowl's top practice player of the week from more than 100 players who gathered in Mobile, Ala., for three days of practice. It didn't take him long to get noticed, drawing praise from NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah on Tuesday, which was the first day of practice. Howard was projected as the No. 23 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft to the New York Giants in analyst Bucky Brooks' post-Senior Bowl practice week mock draft.

Howard wasn't the only Alabama player to receive a practice award, as DT Dalvin Tomlinson was named the top defensive lineman. Temple had a pair of practice award winners as well in LB Haason Reddick and OL Dion Dawkins. Here are the Senior Bowl practice awards, by position:

Quarterback: Davis Webb, Cal

Running back: Jamaal Williams, BYU

Wide receiver: Cooper Kupp, Eastern Washington

Offensive line: Dion Dawkins, Temple

Defensive line:Dalvin Tomlinson, Alabama

Linebacker: Haason Reddick, Temple

Defensive back: Rasul Douglas, West Virginia

Specialists: Jake Elliott (K), Memphis
