Packers expect Davante Adams, Allison to play Sunday

Green Bay's rash of receivers remain a banged-up group, but the team is hopeful that two key pass-catchers will be ready for Sunday's NFC title game against the Falcons.

While Jordy Nelson remains a question mark for the Packers, fellow receiver Davante Adams is trending upward after suffering an ankle injury in last week's win over the Cowboys. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Green Bay expects Adams and fellow wideout Geronimo Allison (leg) to play, per sources informed of the situation.

While both wideouts missed Wednesday's practice, the Packers did see Nelson work out on a limited basis.

Battling the effects of multiple broken ribs suffered in the wild-card round against the Giants, Nelson told reporters, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "I've never been like that before. It was the worst pain I've ever felt. Hopefully, it doesn't happen again. It's not fun."

We still view Nelson as a long shot for Sunday (he remains with the rehab group Thursday), but having Adams and Allison back in the mix serves as a promising start for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After all, he dialed up 34 points on the road minus Nelson against the Cowboys -- a club boasting a better defense than Atlanta's.
