Injuries: Mitchell (knee) to sit out Patriots-Texans

Tom Savage has cleared concussion protocol.

The Texans have also named him as the No. 2 quarterback this Saturday against the Patriots. Houston had Brandon Weeden backing up Brock Osweiler last weekend against the Raiders.

Savage came on for Osweiler in the middle of Week 15's contest against the Jaguars, and started two additional games before he exited early with a concussion in the season finale against the Titans.

Here are some other injuries we are tracking the day before the Divisional Round kicks off:

Ladarius Green is unlikely to be on the field Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers tight end is doubtful to play against the Chiefs as he remains in the concussion protocol. He's in danger of missing his fourth straight game.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn't even on the injury report anymore after sustaining an ankle injury against the Dolphins. Linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ankle) was ruled out. Defensive end Ricardo Mathews (ankle) and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint (concussion) are questionable.

Packers receiver Jordy Nelson was unsurprisingly ruled out against the Cowboys, along with running back James Starks (concussion). Nelson fractured at least two ribs in Sunday's win over the Giants. Cornerback Quinten Rollins (concussion) and wideout Jeff Janis (quad) are questionable.

The team announced Saturday they have added cornerback Damarious Randall the injury report due to a foot injury. Randall is now listed as questionable for Sunday vs. the Cowboys.

Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise (shoulder) is inactive Saturday against the Falcons, but if Seattle advances he'll play next week, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.

Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne (groin) and offensive tackle Tyron Smith (knee) are both questionable.

Texans safety Quintin Demps (hamstring) and linebackerJohn Simon (chest) are questionable to play against the Patriots.

Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell (knee) is not expected to play Saturday against the Texans, a source involved told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
