Andy Reid: Chiefs' Tyreek Hill similar to D-Jax

Tyreek Hill's 95-yard punt return versus the San Diego Chargers led to AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.

The NFL's fastest player has exceeded 22 mph several times, per Next Gen Stats, leaving Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid in wonderment of the rookie's speed and on-the-fly agility.

"I look at that, and he'd get a speeding ticket in a school zone, he's going 22 mph -- that's pretty good," Reid said Tuesday, via The Kansas City Star. "He's moving pretty fast. When he goes by you, it's amazing how fast he can corner and edge things.

"A lot of guys have speed, but can't corner, they don't have the quickness that he has. He has a unique blend there. He's fun to watch."

With that Week 17 punt return, Hill became the first rookie in NFL history to score a touchdown of 65 or more yards in four consecutive games. He's also the first player ever with at least three touchdowns each via rush, reception and kick return in a single season.

That dynamic multi-threat ability has Reid reminiscing about a rookie sensation from the latter days of his Philadelphia tenure.

"I had DeSean Jackson and he kind of was the same," Reid explained. "When he was young he did all of the return stuff, we moved him all around the offense, he took snaps as a quarterback, we had him everywhere. He made it to the Pro Bowl in two different positions -- as a wide receiver and a returner."

Hill is more dangerous as a runner and receiver with the ball in his hands, but he can't match Jackson's ability to consistently get open and haul in bombs deep down the field.

The antidote to Kansas City's playmaking drought, Hill would be the runaway choice for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors if not for a pair of first-year MVP candidates in Dallas.
