College Football 24/7 Hot Topics:

Stats: 2 tackles (0.5 sacks), 1 QB hurry. (vs. Florida)

Skinny: NFL scouts are always searching for explosive playmakers off the edge. That's why evaluators are smitten with Williams' potential as a disruptive pass rusher. Williams finished the regular season with 8.5 sacks after adding a half-sack in the SEC Championship. He brings an outstanding combination of first-step quickness and explosive athleticism to the position. Williams' burst will make him a challenge to block off the open side.

Against Florida, Williams' explosiveness continued to create a bit of a disruption on passing plays. Despite only registering a half-sack on the day, he consistently threatened the quarterback and disrupted the rhythm of the passing game on obvious passing downs. While scouts would love to see Williams become a more complete player (improve as a run defender), there is no doubt he could bring tremendous value as a pass-rush specialist as a pro.
