Gronkowski (back) leaves early, ruled out against Jets

The Patriots were without their top offensive target for much of Sunday evening.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski went to the locker room late in the first quarter against the Jets with a back injury. He was ruled out in the third quarter of New England's 22-17 win.

Gronk finished with no catches on two deep targets.

Heading into Sunday's contest, Gronk was among many Patriots listed as questionable to play. The tight end suffered a perforated lung against the Seahawks in Week 10.

A source informed of the tight end's injury told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the injury is not believed to be serious.
