Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

College Football 24/7 Hot Topics:

Stats: 20-of-43 for 211 yards, TD. 25 carries for 33 yards (1.3 average). (at Houston)

Skinny: The Heisman Trophy front-runner turned in his worst performance of the season against Houston. After torching defenses with his unique combination of talents as a dynamic dual threat for the first 10 games of the season, Jackson was stymied by the Cougars' relentless pressure tactics. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder was pummeled in the pocket (11 sacks) and bottled up by a front seven that plugged each and every gap at the point of attack on running plays. As a result, Jackson looked flustered and frustrated for most of the night while failing to exhibit the exhilarating playmaking style that's made him a favorite in the scouting community. Now, it's silly to suggest that Jackson's poor performance will cost him the ultimate prize as college football's top player, but the dismal showing will certainly temper some of the momentum created by his 47-touchdown campaign.
