Bucs sign ex-Eagles WR Josh Huff to practice squad

Josh Huff has a new home.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed the former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver to their practice squad, the team announced Monday.

The Eaglesreleased Huff last week after the third-year pass-catcher was pulled over for speeding in New Jersey on Nov. 1 and charged with possession of an unloaded handgun without a permit. Huff was also charged for possessing a small amount of marijuana.

"I want to let the fans and community as a whole know that I understand the responsibility I have as a professional athlete," Huff said after the incident, "and I will take all measures necessary to correct mistakes I have made."

Philly quickly pulled the plug on the 5-foot-11, 206-pound wideout who caught 48 passes for 482 yards and a touchdown over two-plus seasons with the Eagles, who picked him in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Bucs could use help in the passing game, but Huff is no guarantee to see the field this season in Tampa.
