Redskins TE Jordan Reed evaluated for concussion

Jordan Reed's promising season has taken an ominous turn.

The Redskins tight end is being evaluated for a concussion after experiencing symptoms during Tuesday's workout, per the team's official Twitter account. Reed missed Wednesday's practice and looms as a question mark for Sunday's showdown with the Eagles.

It's an especially concerning development for Reed, who has suffered five concussions from 2011 to 2015 dating back to his college career at Florida.

Reed dealt with a concussion as recently as last season, but was otherwise a valuable asset over 14 starts. He's continued to operate as a major factor this season, leading Washington in targets (46), receptions (33) and yardage (316).

Losing Reed for any amount of time would serve as a disaster for a Redskins team still fighting for relevance in the NFC East.
