Jonathan Allen returns interception for key touchdown

Alabama's biggest touchdown Saturday in a 48-43 win over Ole Miss came from an equally big player in star DE Jonathan Allen, who at 6-3, 294 pounds intercepted a fourth quarter Chad Kelly pass and returned it 75 yards for a score.

It was an unlikely source for six points, but after falling behind 24-3 in the first half, the Crimson Tide needed points any way they could get them. Ultimately, that meant three non-offensive touchdowns -- along with an 85-yard punt return by S Eddie Jackson and a short fumble return for a score by DL Da'Ron Payne -- before Allen's play gave Alabama its final points:

Allen, a senior, is one of the top defensive line prospects in college football for the 2017 NFL Draft.

NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah was impressed with Allen's film from last year, describing him as a technician who is best suited to play defensive tackle in the NFL.

Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly completed 26 of 41 passes for 421 yards and three touchdowns, but Alabama countered with its best rushing performance of the season (334 yards).
