Blair Walsh starts 2016 season how he ended 2015

Unsolicited advice: Blair Walsh should probably stop missing short field goals.

The Vikings kicker, whose shank in last January's playoff loss to the Seahawks will live forever in franchise infamy, missed his first field-goal attempt of 2016. It was a 37-yarder -- aka a Gary Anderson -- and it did not look pretty.

Walsh missed his second attempt as well, though at 56 yards, it was a tougher attempt. But that doesn't explain why he missed an extra-point attempt in the third quarter following a 77-yard interception return by Eric Kendricks.

I typically follow a code in life not to root for guys named Blair, but I'm making an exception here. Being a kicker is hard. Hang in there, Blair.

By the time Minnesota wrapped up its 25-16 win over the Titans, Walsh had found his groove, finishing 4-for-6 on field goals from 50, 33, 45 and 30 yards and 1-for-2 on extra points.
