David DeCastro, Steelers agree on new six-year deal

David DeCastro was a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2015, and is getting rewarded for his strong performance before the 2016 season kicks off.

The offensive guard agreed to a six-year contract with the Steelers, the team announced Thursday. The new deal is worth $58.07 million, a source informed told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was the first to report the news.

DeCastro was Pittsburgh's first-round selection in 2012, and has started in all but one game over the past three seasons along the Steelers' offensive line.

After the 2016 campaign, DeCastro's five-year, $50 million extension will kick in. His new $10 million annual salary will be the second-highest among all NFL guards, only trailing Kelechi Osemele's $11.7 million per year deal this past offseason with the Raiders.
