Eagles, ex-Lions LB Stephen Tulloch agree to terms

Stephen Tulloch is reuniting with his old coach.

The former Lions linebacker has joined the Eagles, agreeing to terms on a one-year deal Sunday worth $3 million with $1.75 million guaranteed, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday that Tulloch joined the team.

Tulloch will play under former skipper Jim Schwartz in Philadelphia; Schwartz is entering his first season as the Eagles' defensive coordinator after nine seasons as Titans defensive coordinator and five seasons as Lions head coach.

Detroit released its veteran inside linebacker in July after he stayed on the roster long enough to receive a $500,000 roster bonus. Tulloch is coming off offseason surgery and his least productive 16-game slate since 2008. Still, the 31-year-old veteran led the Lions with 107 tackles in 2015 and had amassed more than 100 tackles in four of his five seasons in the Motor City.

Tulloch will likely see time behind Jordan Hicks at middle linebacker and replace rising rookie Joe Walker, who will miss the entire 2016 season with a torn ACL.
