Ravens to show Phelps race at Panthers game

Fans at M&T Bank Stadium will be cheering on a native son during the Ravens' preseason opener on Thursday.

The Ravens announced Wednesday that they will air Michael Phelps' 200-meter individual medley finals race on their in-stadium video boards during a commercial break of the Ravens' matchup against the Panthers. The race is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.

Phelps has continued his unrivaled domination of the Summer Olympics stage this week, claiming three more gold medals to raise his record career total to 21. Phelps still needs to qualify for the finals, though Phelps missing the cut is about as likely as Ray Lewis going platinum.

Phelps, 31, was born in Baltimore and has been a consistent presence at Ravens game for years. He is the most decorated athlete in the history of the Olympic Games and has a mean mug that could spook James Harrison.
