Jalen Tabor? Not anymore, Florida CB now goes by Teez Tabor

You can call him the best cornerback in college football, but you just don't call him Jalen.

The Florida Gators' star cover man -- up until now known as Jalen Tabor -- is changing his name to Teez, and wants everyone to know it. The UF roster, along with Tabor's official bio, has been changed to reflect the request.

"If you call me Teez, you know me," Tabor told the school's athletic web site. "If you call me Jalen, you just know of me."

NFL scouts will get to know him plenty this fall. After two years in the shadow of former Gators star Vernon Hargreaves -- who was the No. 11 overall draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in April -- Tabor will play with the scrutiny of being heralded as the top cornerback in college football this fall as a junior. He intercepted four passes last season, returning two of them for touchdowns, and broke up 14 others. He's allowed just one touchdown pass in his career, per NFL Media analyst Lance Zlerlein, who rated Tabor as the top cornerback in the game.

Tabor credited his older brother, Roger, with making the nickname Teez stick from childhood.

Known for his brash talk on the field, here's guessing some receivers will be calling him Jalen this fall. With Tabor's coverage skills, he'll certainly be close enough to hear them if they do.
