Gase: Arian Foster 'rolling with the ones' in Miami

With Jay Ajayi sidelined for a few practices due to a bone bruise in his knee, Arian Foster is clearly the Miami Dolphins' top back the next several training camp workouts. To hear coach Adam Gase tell it, Foster could remain as the team's No. 1 back well into the season.

"(Foster) is going to be working with the ones the whole training camp," Gase said, via the Miami Herald. "His resume speaks for itself. I don't think there's any question why we brought him in here. He's playing this year. Whether he's the guy that will be the first snap of the game, time will tell. He is going to be rolling with the ones."

Talent has never been Foster's problem -- staying healthy has. Foster missed 23 games over the past three seasons, thanks in part to a series of soft-tissue injuries. He's coming off a torn Achilles tendon.

Not only will Foster need to remain healthy, he'll have to prove he's back to form. In the four games he played in 2015, Foster looked slow, as if the years of injury had finally caught up to the one-cut back.

Foster is in line for a big role in Miami, even when Ajayi returns healthy. It's up to the veteran to show he can stay on the field for an entire season.
