Roman Harper 'can't wait' to trash talk Panthers

Roman Harper has spent the past decade in the NFC South. The two-time Pro Bowl safety played his first eight years with the New Orleans Saints before a two-season stint with the Carolina Panthers.

Now that the 33-year-old re-signed with the Saints, he's ready to trash talk his former Panthers teammates.

"I can't wait to go against these guys," Harper told WCNC in Charlotte, while attending a recent youth camp. "You know the trash talk is going to be at an all-time high. And may the best team win. It's going to all be in great fun and competition and that's what we do...

"The trash talk has already started," Harper said. "It's never really a dull day. We all still talk. I'm so glad I got to meet those guys. We're a tight-knight group."

We doubt that "trash talk" will be very mean-spirited after Harper left Carolina on good terms -- and still returns to the city for charity events. Still, with the Panthers electing to go with a young secondary, Harper could dig deep in the athlete 'disrespected' bag when the Saints face Carolina.
