Matt Ryan using a mirror to improve footwork

Matt Ryan is hoping a narcissistic tool can help him improve in his second year in Kyle Shanahan's system.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterback believes sloppy footwork was the main cause of his mistakes last season, so Ryan is using a mirror to help improve his technique in the pocket.

"Simple things like getting in front of a mirror, trying to get your feet into position to be able to drive the ball the way we want to and the timing of the play," Ryan said about working to improve his comfort level with the system, per the team's official website.

Ryan's play struggled down the stretch as the Falcons lost seven of their final nine games last season. The quarterback threw 10 interceptions over those final nine games and only enjoyed two contests without throwing a pick.

Much of Shanahan's system has been put under the microscope this offseason, but in the end it will come down to Ryan, Julio Jones and Co. adapting and executing.

Every little mirror session should aid in that endeavor.
