Ben Grubbs appears at the end of his NFL career.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Grubbs, a former Pro Bowl guard who spent last season with the Chiefs, has likely played his last down because of a neck injury, according to a source informed of his condition.

Grubbs suffered the neck injury last October, an issue that kept him out the final nine regular-season games and two playoffs matchups. The Chiefs released Grubbs with a failed physical designation, an indiction he was dealing with a long-term issue.

Kansas City signed Grubbs to a four-year, $24 million deal last offseason, after acquiring him from the Saints in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Grubbs started his career with the Ravens and later signed a big free-agent deal with the Saints. The two-time Pro Bowl selection turned 32 in March.
