Corey Coleman might be the best wide receiver available in the 2016 NFL Draft, but held up against the light of the impressive wide receiver draft classes since 2013, he doesn't quite reach the top.
NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah, on NFL Network's Path to the Draft, ranked Coleman fifth among the top receivers to enter the league since 2013, behind West Virginia's Kevin White, Alabama's Amari Cooper, Clemson's Sammy Watkins and Louisville's DeVante Parker. Analyst Charles Davis slotted Coleman even lower, ranking him No. 8 after another Clemson receiver, DeAndre Hopkins.
"When I look grade-wise at where I have (Coleman), I've got to put him (below) DeVante Parker and (above) Mike Evans," Jeremiah said.
Jeremiah ranked Ole Miss' Laquon Treadwell at No. 7 in the group, just behind Evans, and Notre Dame's Will Fuller behind FSU's Kelvin Benjamin at No. 13.
The analysts ranked the receivers from past draft classes based not on how they have done as pros, but on how they were graded entering their respective drafts. Last week, Jeremiah did the same exercise with quarterbacks, and ranked North Dakota State's Carson Wentz No. 7 among the quarterback draft classes since 2011.
