Derrick Henry says he's met with Seahawks, Cowboys, Panthers

Could Derrick Henry be the right man to fill these shoes?

Those, of course, are the retired cleats of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who signaled his retirement with that tweet, and the Seahawks are among the teams that have shown interest in Alabama's Heisman Trophy-winning rusher. The Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys will also meet with Henry.

"I'm going to the facilities and meeting with them," Henry told College Football 24/7.

Henry said on NFL HQ on Thursday at Lynch, along with the Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson, are among his favorite running backs to watch.

"I have my own path. (Lynch) did a great job; unbelievable job with the Seahawks," Henry said about the possibility of replacing Lynch. "But you know, I wanna have my own path and do my own thing."

Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is widely expected to be the first running back chosen in the 2016 NFL Draft, but Henry could easily be the second. He rushed for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior last season, leading Alabama to a College Football Playoff championship before declaring for the draft as an early entrant.

Of course, meeting with Henry and drafting him are two entirely different things, but Henry could be an attractive option to add to a backfield mix that includes Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael.

Seattle holds the No. 26 overall pick in the first round, and selects No. 56 overall in Round 2.
