Adam Vinatieri re-signs with Indianapolis Colts

The ageless Adam Vinatieri will continue to kick for the Indianapolis Colts.

In a move that will surprise no one, the Colts announced they agreed to terms with the 43-year-old kicker on a new contract. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported it's a two-year deal worth $6 million. It's hard to believe, but Vinatieri has split his 20 seasons in the league evenly between the Colts and Patriots. He is the all-time Colts leader in points scored, extra points made and field goals made.

Vinatieri has hit 55-of-58 field goals in the last two years, which is vaguely ridiculous. The Patriots moved on from Vinatieri in theory 10 years ago because his leg wasn't as strong, yet he's hit seven of eight field goals over 50 yards in the last two years. In short: He's doing everything possible to become only the second kicker-only player to make Pro Football Hall of Fame.
