Malik Jackson: Brock Osweiler's proven at QB

Malik Jackson believes the time is now for Denver to usher in Brock Osweiler at quarterback.

The free agent must see the writing on the wall with Peyton Manning in Denver. Whether Manning is ready to ride off into the sunset or not, Jackson is not the first player with Broncosties to suggest that the Osweiler era is prepared to restart.

On Monday's edition of NFL Total Access the defensive lineman conveyed that Osweiler is ready to take the helm.

"He's definitely someone who's proven. He's been underpaid for four years, quietly waiting," Jackson said.

Osweiler showed some promise filling in for Manning. The four-year quarterback out of Arizona State threw for 1,967 yards and 10 touchdown passes in limited regular season action. Though he struggled in Denver's Week 17 tilt against the San Diego Chargers which prompted the switch back to Manning -- and the rest is history.

If Osweiler does take the reins, Jackson is confident that the Broncos' defense is stout enough to make the transition smooth.

"With the defense they have in Denver, you could put Brock back there and he'll definitely win some games with them."

While Jackson is talking as if his time in Denver has come to an end, it looks like Osweiler's is about to begin, again.
