The Philadelphia Eagles are not letting Vinny Curry venture onto the free-agent market.

The defensive end has signed to a five-year, $47.25 million contract with the Eagles that includes $23 million guaranteed, a source apprised of the deal told NFL Media's Albert Breer. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport added that the pass-rusher gets paid $10 million immediately.

The Eagles later confirmed the deal.

Curry has seen his production dip of late. He compiled nine sacks in 2014 and just 3.5 in 2015. Curry's a natural 4-3 defensive end, but played in Chip Kelly's 3-4 scheme. The pass rusher struggled with his transition to outside linebacker and saw his playing time dwindle.

In four seasons in Philadelphia, Curry has totaled 62 tackles and 16.5 sacks.

Now with Doug Pederson in town, the Eagles are switching back to a 4-3 defense -- which is music to Curry's ears and his wallet.
