Jamie Collins was officially questionable with a back injury, but he was made active for Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe first reported that Collins was "good to go" despite the questionable status, per a source.
Among a boatload of questionable Patriots players, including fellow front seven defenders Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower, Collins was in a precarious position after being limited in practice all week.Â
The linebacker injured his back in the second half of the Patriots' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. He played one more down after suffering the injury, then remained on the sideline for the duration of the day. Collins played just 43 of 89 snaps in the Divisional Round.
Collins missed the Patriots' Week 12 loss to the Broncos. Having him Sunday to attack Peyton Manning is a big boon for New England, assuming he can play the majority of the contest at full health.
Collins led the Patriots in tackles with 89 in 2015, despite only playing in 12 contests.
In case Collins is somehow unavailable, the Patriots will have fresh reinforcements. New England signed rookie linebacker Kevin Snyder to the active roster off the practice squad.
