Alabama's Ragland, Reed accept Senior Bowl invitations

The Reese's Senior Bowl is putting the finishing touches on its roster with a week to go until the start of practice, and it announced Tuesday that two star members of the national championship-winning Alabama Crimson Tide have accepted invitations to the event.

Linebacker Reggie Ragland and defensive tackle Jarran Reed were added to the roster. They'll join Crimson Tide quarterback Jake Coker, running back Kenyan Drake and cornerback Cyrus Jones in competing in front of NFL executives, coaches and scouts in Mobile, Ala., the site of practices and the game next week.

The Alabama players will compete for the South team in the game.

Ragland is the most highly regarded of the group, with NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah ranking him 10th among all prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft. Reed is not far behind Ragland in Jeremiah's rankings, coming in at No. 13.

Coker is one of eight quarterbacks that have accepted invites to the Senior Bowl, as the number of slots for QBs has expanded from its usual six to eight this year. He's not considered among the best at his position, although a scout told CFB 24/7 last month that he thinks Coker can be better in the pros than he was in college.
