Georgia's Leonard Floyd intends to enter 2016 NFL Draft

Georgia confirmed on Thursday that junior linebacker Leonard Floyd intends to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

Floyd indicated in late November, shortly after Georgia announced that it was parting with head coach Mark Richt, that his time at Georgia was coming to an end.

He mulled applying for early draft entry after the 2014 season, but returned for his junior year and led the Bulldogs in sacks with 4.5. He had a career-high 74 tackles during the 2015 campaign and was among five finalists for the Butkus Award (college football's top linebacker), which went to Notre Dame's Jaylon Smith.

Floyd figures to be one of the most intriguing talents at his position in this year's draft class.

NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein wrote after Floyd's initial declaration in November that he projects as a pass-rushing 3-4 outside linebacker in the NFL. Zierlein ranked Floyd as the No. 5 edge defender in college football entering the 2015 season.
