Ohio State WR Michael Thomas declares for 2016 NFL Draft

Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas became the eighth Ohio State underclassman to announce an intention to enter the 2016 NFL Draft on Tuesday, thanking Buckeyes fans in a statement via social media:

Thomas caught 56 passes for 781 yards and nine touchdowns during the 2015 season. NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah attended Thomas' final college performance at the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame, and described him as the "perfect possession receiver."

Underclassmen have until a Jan. 18 deadline to apply for early draft eligibility. Other Buckeyes underclassmen who intend to enter the draft include WR Jalin Marshall, DE Joey Bosa, LB Darron Lee, DB Tyvis Powell, RB Ezekiel Elliott, QB Cardale Jones and CB Eli Apple. Safety Vonn Bell is considering early entry as well.
