Cowboys' Dez Bryant to undergo foot surgery

Perhaps Dez Bryant's speedy return from a broken foot was too good to be true after all.

Just two weeks after team owner Jerry Jones went on the radio and said that the club would not shut down or limit the star wide receiver, Bryant is headed for foot and ankle surgery, per head coach Jason Garrett.

Every game, all season

According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the surgeries are expected to be minor procedures and should keep Bryant on track this offseason.

Garrett maintained that the Cowboys did not rush Bryant back from his initial foot injury, which occurred in the season opener.

Bryant re-emerged at the beginning of November, and while he was moderately productive this season considering the scope of the injury, he injured his ankle the week after his return in a game against the Eagles.

Dallas had better hope this offseason goes smoothly and according to plan. The team married themselves to Bryant with a hefty five-year $70 million contract with $45 million guaranteed this past offseason.
