Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon charged with DUI

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested on a DUI charge on Saturday night, according to arrest logs provided by the Carter County (Oklahoma) Sheriff's Office.

The booking time was listed at 4:45 a.m. CT. Blackmon was released later on that morning.

The No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 draft out of Oklahoma State, Blackmon is currently under indefinite suspension, and has been suspended three times by the NFL for violating their policy on substances of abuse. Jacksonville has not seen him on the practice field or in a game since the middle of 2013. He caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns during a promising rookie campaign.

But staying out of trouble was always the counter balance to Blackmon's incredible talent.

Back in August, Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said he thought Blackmon's career was over. He said he had not heard anything from the wideout and said that realistically, Blackmon would not be able to get back into the type of playing shape that could make him an effective wide receiver in the NFL again.

"I don't know what to expect but I would say common sense would probably be if you haven't played football in two-and-a-half years, apparently that's not a priority for you," Caldwell said.

Saturday's events don't disprove Caldwell's theory. Around The NFL will have more on the arrest as information becomes available.
