Cullen Jenkins 'not getting into' headphone incident

Former Giants defensive end Damontre Moore was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins on Monday but did not arrive in Miami Gardens on time to have a reunion.

That meant that reporters still pressed Giants defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins for answers. Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Jenkins and Moore got into a scuffle over some free Beats headphones, the last in a series of alarming incidents involving the defensive end.

Jenkins, though, insists this is not true.

"I'm not going to get into that," Jenkins said, via The New York Post. "It's gotten a lot of attention lately. I've heard stories all over the place on it, but I'm not going to get into that. There are a bunch of different stories so every one of them can't be right. It was all that was being talked about. I was getting text messages. Everybody wants to know what's going on. That's what becomes a distraction."

Jenkins is right about the distraction part, but it seems like the story surrounding him and Moore has been remarkably consistent across the board. Odell Beckham got free Beats for the team, Jenkins may or may not have taken an extra pair and Moore was upset that there wasn't one left for him.

Still, despite earning a reputation as one of the scariest players in the NFL, Jenkins has handled this quite deftly.

"You have a relationship with players you play with," Jenkins said. "We all wish him the best. We wish him well. Hope he does well."
