Dolphins turn 'MNF' into throwback celebration

It's been another tough season for Dolphins fans, so perhaps this is the right time to reminisce about more prosperous times for the franchise.

The Dolphins announced last summer that the team would wear a "throwback uniform with a nod to the team's storied history" during Week 14's matchup against the Giants at Sun Life Stadium.

The uniforms are just one aspect of a throwback evening. The Dolphins will also paint the end zones in the zig-zag design of yesteryear and distribute a "Horrible Hanky" to fans in attendance, a nod to the club's answer to the Steelers' "Terrible Towel" that was prominent at the Orange Bowl during the 1972 undefeated season. At halftime, the Dolphins will honor the top 50 players in franchise history.

Here's a look at what the Dolphins have in store:

No word if Dan Marino will replace Ryan Tannehill in the starting lineup after the halftime ceremony. Tannehill might not want that put to popular vote.
