Hunt says Andy Reid, John Dorsey will be back in 2016

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey will be back in 2016, regardless of how this season finishes.

That's the word from Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, who spoke to reporters in London on Sunday ahead of the morning's Chiefs-Lions tilt.

If nothing else, the Chiefs were due to bottom out a bit. Reid took over a dismal team that had the No. 1 overall pick in 2013, one of the worst drafts in recent memory and are operating with a traded veteran at quarterback.

At some point, the current operation was going to spring a leak and Hunt is smart enough to know that Reid -- and Dorsey for that matter -- can build a team.

With a deeper draft on the horizon, one once again rich in playmakers, this could be a blessing in disguise for a team that was expected to compete with the Broncos this season. Having an owner smart enough not to make a coaching change is a blessing within itself.
