Eagles LT Jason Peters suffers back injury in loss

The Eagles' beleaguered offensive line lost its best player in their Sunday night loss.

Left tackle Jason Peters was carted off the field after suffering an injury in the first quarter of Sunday night's game against the Panthers. The Eagles declared it a lower back injury and originally said that he was questionable to return. However the team later ruled the left tackle out. Peters was clearly in a great deal of pain and tried to stand up after the injury. He was not able to.

Just about every Eagles teammate came over to Peters to lift his spirits as he left the field, which is never a good sign. The entire team seemed to know that Peters suffered what could be a serious injury. He has previously returned from tearing his Achilles' tendon twice in his career.

Peters has made seven Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pros, most of which came since the Eagles acquired him in a trade with the Bills.
