Unlike his predecessor Rex Ryan, New York Jets coach Todd Bowles is straying away from the hype surrounding the Jets' upcoming clash with the New England Patriots. When asked by reporters on what a win would mean for the Jets squad, Bowles brushed off the question as if the matchup was just another game.

"It just means we're 5-1 and we gotta get ready for Oakland," Bowles said via ESPN.

Jets players are following Bowles' approach heading into Week 7.

"I think it's a different approach for us this time around and that's how we have to follow behind Coach Bowles," cornerback Darrelle Revis said. "Rex, he has his way of doing things in the past, and now it's different. This is how we approach it."

Not all Jets players are keeping mum about Sunday's game. Defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson predicted a win to Metro News on Thursday.

"This is going to be another win for us," Richardson said. "We'll let you write all the columns about validating wins and stuff like that. This is going to be another win in the win column if we (get) out there and execute and do what we're supposed to do."

Don't forget about Richardson's comments following the Jets' win over the Redskins last week. Richardson said the Jets were "licking our chops" when asked about facing the reigning Super Bowl champions.

However, Richardson fired back on Twitter late Thursday evening, claiming his comments were taken out of context.

It's reported that Richardson's comments were in response to question on whether or not a win over New England would validate the Jets. Richardson said it would just be like any other win, reiterating Bowles' sentiments.
