Matt Forte: 'I'm pissed' about Bears' bye week

For most NFL squads, the bye week is cherished. It's a time to revitalize rosters (and morale) before embarking on the remainder of the season. But for Bears veteran running back Matt Forte, it's simply an inconvenience.

Following the Bears' 37-34 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Forte voiced his opinion on his impending off week.

"It's frustrating. I'm pissed off about it," Forte said via ESPN. "I don't want to go to the bye week. I want to focus on the next team."

Prior to Sunday's loss, the Bears were coming off two consecutive comeback victories (vs. Oakland and Kansas City). Forte's concerns are understandable, though. The Bears failed to capitalize on several occasions vs. the Lions.

"The game was basically given to us," Forte said. "We had a lot of opportunities to win that game."

Forte should reconsider his stance on bye weeks. The Bears' next slate of games includes Minnesota, San Diego, St. Louis, Denver and Green Bay. The week off could help resuscitate this team.
