The New Orleans Saints are making a change at kicker.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the team has released Zach Hocker and is signing Kai Forbath, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Hocker did himself in on Thursday, when he missed field-goal attempts from 51 and 48 yards out in a win over the Atlanta Falcons. Hocker put himself on the chopping block in Week 4, when he missed a 30-yard field goal attempt that would have given New Orleans a win over the Cowboys. The Saints went on to win the game in overtime.
Here's a fun game of kicker musical chairs: Hocker won a training camp competition against Dustin Hopkins, who was cut and then signed with the Redskins, who made room for Hopkins by releasing -- you guessed it -- Kai Forbath.
Kickers have well-paid, horrible jobs.
