Blake Bortles suffers Grade 1 AC joint sprain in shoulder

Blake Bortles suffered a Grade 1 AC joint sprain in his shoulder during the Jacksonville Jaguars' 38-31 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the team announced.

The quarterback played through the injury. It was not immediately noted when the injury occurred or whether it was to his throwing shoulder.

Bortles' status will be updated throughout the week. Coach Gus Bradley said he doesn't expect the injury to be too serious, but cautioned not to be alarmed if the quarterback doesn't practice on Wednesday.

As for the rest of the week's practices, Bradley said, "right now, I think he'll be in good shape."

Bortles completed 23 of 33 passes for 303 yards, four touchdowns and an interception for a 125.4 passer rating, setting career highs in touchdown passes and passer rating. It was the quarterback's first 300-yard performance of the season.

The second-year passer was dynamic Sunday, linking up with receivers Allen Robinson (7 receptions, 72 receiving yards, 2 TDs), Allen Hurns (5 receptions, 116 receiving yards, 1 TD) and got back tight end Julius Thomas. The Jags' passing attack has the potential to be wildly entertaining, assuming the injury doesn't hinder Bortles.

However, the blocking in front of the quarterback Sunday was poor. Bortles was sacked six times and flushed from the pocket on several other occasions.
