Niners CB Shareece Wright seeking trade or release

Shareece Wright has seen enough of this year's 49ers.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the fifth-year cornerback is seeking a trade out of San Francisco or his release, per a source informed of the situation.

Wright has yet to be activated for any of the team's three games this season and appeared to be irritated with Sunday's deactivation, writing "politics as usual" on Twitter before deleting the entry, per Bay Area News Group. Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area noted that Wright loses $21,875 for every game that he's inactive.

The Niners inked Wright to a one-year, $3 million pact in March. He made 27 starts with the Chargers over the previous four seasons, but San Diego's third-round pick from 2011 has failed to emerge behind Niners starters Tramaine Brock and Kenneth Acker.

Under no requirement to meet Wright's demands, San Francisco will let the defender twist in the wind unless another club comes calling.
