Taylor Mays bounced all around the NFL in the offseason. His latest stop will be a familiar one.

Mays will be re-signed by the Raiders, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported. The Raiders plan to start the six-year veteran against the Ravens in Week 2, a team Mays played twice a year during with his four seasons with the Bengals. Oakland released the safety on cut-down day.

In the Raiders' 33-13 opening day loss, Andy Dalton, Tyler Eifert and the Bengals' offense exploited major deficiencies in the Oakland secondary, especially at the safety position. With Charles Woodson nursing a disclosed shoulder, Mays will be tasked with shoring up the porous backline.

After spending all of 2014 in Cincinnati, Mays was signed, and then released, by the Vikings, Lions and Raiders this offseason. Mays has started only four games since his rookie season, and tallied 98 tackles and one forced fumble in his career.
