Browns waive Terrelle Pryor: 'This will be a mistake'

Cleveland is pulling the plug on Terrelle Pryor.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Browns waived the quarterback-turned-wideout, according to a source.

The move is a surprise after Cleveland's front office took a leap of faith on Pryor, making him part of the 53-man roster despite very little proof he can play the position.

"This will be a mistake by them," Pryor said after learning of his fate, per The Plain Dealer.

The athletically gifted Pryor saw a mere 17 snaps during the preseason after battling a sore hamstring that kept him sidelined for most of camp. The transaction gained clarity after it was learned that the Browns had picked up former Seahawks running back Robert Turbin off waivers.
