Chiefs LT Eric Fisher sidelined by high ankle sprain

The Kansas City Chiefs will have to make do for the time being without left tackle Eric Fisher.

The team announced Tuesday that Fisher has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, an injury suffered during practice on Monday. A source told ESPN's Ed Werder that Fisher will be sidelined "a couple of weeks."

Every game, all season

This can be counted as good news for the Chiefs fans who feared the worst when Fisher was carted off the field on Monday. Donald Stephenson will likely fill in for Fisher until the former No. 1 overall pick is able to return. If the timetable for recovery is two weeks, Fisher should be ready for the start of the regular season.

With Fisher and Jeff Allen (knee) both out of action, the Chiefs are currently without both starting tackles. A signing for depth purposes could be in the offing.
