Jordan Cameron has seen enough from Miami's offense this summer to predict a major bounce-back campaign in 2015.
"In my mind I know I can play," Cameron said, per ESPN.com's James Walker. "I know I can be a Pro Bowl player. I'm trying to help this team win. Right now I'm not going to set any goals and tell you what I'm going to do in the season. Right now I'm getting better at my craft and that's the only thing I'm focusing on."
Now entrenched in a tight-end friendly attack that saw Charles Clay targeted 184 times over the past two seasons, Cameron is a candidate to double the 424 yards he posted during an injury-plagued campaign last autumn.
His durability remains the concern after concussions and various injuries held Cameron to just 31 starts over four seasons in Cleveland. If healthy, though, the former college basketball player has the skill set to operate as one of league's premier pass-catching tight ends.
"He's got good hands, I like his size, I think he's got a good understanding and I think he feels good about the system that we have here and how we can utilize him in some of the passing concepts that we typically utilize with our tight end," said Dolphins coach Joe Philbin. "I don't want to put a number on it, but I like what he's doing."
Cameron's athleticism on Game Rewind recalls elements of Jimmy Graham. He also developed into a playmaker in Cleveland despite playing with a parade of horror shows under center.
"I played with like 15 quarterbacks in four years," Cameron said in June of his tenure with the Browns. "I haven't had that (stability) really, so I'm looking forward to that."
Ryan Tannehill is far from perfect, but the Dolphins quarterback favors the tight end position and hasn't missed a start in his three-year career. If Cameron can shake the injury bug, he's in store for a juicy comeback in Miami.
