CFB Social: Cardale Jones gets scare, Urban Meyer photobombs

Here's a look at this week's best social-media posts from around college football.

Preseason pranks

Buckeyes intern Mike Hartline got the best of Cardale Jones -- and a few other Buckeyes -- with a mannequin prank at the OSU football facility this week. The complete video is below, with Jones' unsuspecting role coming at the 2:12 mark:

Meyer at it again

A couple weeks after Urban Meyer videobombed Snoop Dogg, the Buckeyes' head coach decided to crash this photo. The victims this time: the wives of Ohio State football coaches. Meyer's wife, Shelley, wasn't too thrilled about it.

Time to play

You know people are getting anxious for the start of the season when the official Twitter feeds from two traditional, storied programs like Penn State and Notre Dame cross swords in July. If you're familiar with the story of fabled Notre Dame walk-on Rudy Ruettiger, perhaps you can appreciate Penn State's humor here. Some have suggested that in the climax of the 1993 classic film "Rudy," the actor playing Ruettiger (Sean Astin) jumped offside before the snap.

Get your popcorn ready

Colorado State is doing all it can to promote star wide receiver Rashard "Hollywood" Higgins. And with the Hollywood theme (think movies) came the idea for a popcorn promotion.

What yall think ?

No word whether Higgins plans to go Terrell Owens on us after touchdowns, but could this be a tease of things to come?

Mad Hatter, indeed

Never let it be said that LSU coach Les Miles doesn't know how it feels to be an official. At least, he knows how it feels to look like one. The Mad Hatter, as he's called, tried an official's cap on for size this week:

Back and ready

USC star linebacker Su'a Cravens revealed the startling news via Twitter that an illness dropped his weight to just 198 pounds earlier this year. This is a player who officially lists at 225. But all appears to be well now, however, and Cravens indicated he's packed the weight back on and is ready for 2015:

Trolling Tiger

This isn't the first time LSU running back Leonard Fournette has posted this photo of himself standing over a flattened Vernon Hargreaves III -- the last time, he was engaging in the "DB U" debate going on between his team's secondary and Florida's. It's clear that the powerful sophomore rusher has a fondness for this image. We're guessing if Hargreaves has a chance to stand over a fallen Fournette when the Gators visit LSU on Oct. 17, he'll make sure to save and distribute any photo evidence.

Rocky Mountain Road

If new Colorado State coach Mike Bobo is looking to bond with his new players, he's certainly pushing the right buttons. Ice cream! Former coach Jim McElwain was known as a players' coach, but Bobo can certainly establish the same reputation with moves like this one:
