Stephen Jones says Dez Bryant playoff call was correct

More than six months since Dez Bryant's catch against the Green Bay Packers was ruled incomplete upon review, the topic still hasn't cooled for many Dallas Cowboys fans.

#DezCaughtIt is still a popular hashtag on Twitter, even when the subject's not germane to the ruling or Bryant.

It's also an issue Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones was asked about Tuesday as the team officially opened the Dallas Cowboys Club at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

"As it turns out, according to the rule, I think the call was correct," Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. "Now, going forward is there a better way for some of these players like Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson - is there a way to tweak a rule, you can say they should be catches under NFL rules. That's for the competition committee and for us to continue to look for ways to get better. But I applaud everything that Dean has done."

In the short term, at least, the answer is no, nothing will change about the "Calvin Johnson rule." Even if it defies logic and continues to frustrate fans, in 2015, Bryant's catch would still be ruled incomplete.
